Emory Swimming & Diving Places 27 on CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

27 members of the Emory University Swimming and Diving Teams were recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their athletic and academic efforts during the 2017-18 season, including 22 who were named a Scholar All-American.

The CSCAA Scholar All-America award is presented to all swimmers and divers that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections are awarded to competitors who meet the same academic standards, while also achieving a 'B' time standard, but did not compete in their National Championship.

Earning Scholar All-America recognition for the women were Sia Beasley, Megan Campbell, Cindy Cheng, Lucy Daro, Julia Durmer, Phoebe Edwards, Hannah Lally, Fiona Muir, Caroline Olson, Rachel Song, Meg Taylor, Rebecca Upton and Julia Wawer. The Eagles saw an additional five members honored as honorable mentions: Shelby Frugé, Lara Gemar, Amelia Hartje, Camille Jablonski and Katie Kushner.

Nine men were chosen as Scholar All-Americans: Zachary Chen, Henry Copses, John Copses, Thomas Gordon, Trey Kolleck, Sage Ono, Matt Rogers, Aaron Schwartz and Kellen Stillman.

In addition, both the Emory Men’s and Women’s teams were named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams after recording GPAs higher than 3.0 for the past academic school year. The women posted a collective 3.65 while the men average a 3.36 GPA.

The Eagles are coming off a 2017-18 campaign where the women’s program captured its ninth consecutive NCAA Division III national crown and 11th overall while the men’s team finished as national runners-up, the fifth second place finish in team history.
