The Eagles Weekly Preview for February 10th – 16th. This preview is to serve as a weekly snapshot of all upcoming events for Emory athletic events for the coming week.

 

Swimming & Diving

The swimming & diving teams travel out to Chicago later this week for the 33rd annual University Athletic Association Championships, hosted by the University of Chicago. The Eagles will be vying for their 22nd consecutive conference title on both the men’s and women’s sides when the swimming events commence Thursday morning.

Women’s Tennis

The No. 3 ranked women’s tennis program hits the courts for the first time this spring as the Eagles make the short trip north to battle NAIA power Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville.

Women’s Basketball

The Eagles, scuffling of late with three losses in their past four games, look to right the ship with the final regular season home weekend of the schedule against NYU and Brandeis. Emory enters the weekend entrenched in a three-way tie atop the UAA standings at 6-3, alongside the Violets and Chicago, with five games remaining.

Prior to the start of Sunday’s contest against the Judges, the Eagles will honor their six-member senior class of Erin Lindahl, Allison Chernow, Lindsey Tse, Benna Ames, Hazel Carmona and Safiya Dzotsi with a pre-game ceremony.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team avoided being swept by Chicago and WashU with a heroic late-game rally versus the Bears Sunday afternoon and will enter the final regular season home weekend in a three-way heat for first in the UAA with WashU and Brandeis at 7-2 in league action. Emory hosts NYU Friday evening before a rematch with the Judges on Sunday.

Prior to Sunday’s contest with Brandeis, the Eagles will honor senior Nick Tupanjanin with a pre-game ceremony.

Baseball

Following a 1-1 opening weekend, the Eagles travel to Montgomery, AL for three games in three days at Huntingdon College. Emory opens the weekend tournament with a matchup against Millsaps College Friday afternoon with a 2:00 PM EST first pitch.

Track & Field

After a week hiatus, members of the track and field teams return to the Crossplex in Birmingham to take part in in the Samford Bulldog open on Friday and Saturday.

Men’s Tennis

The No. 1 ranked men’s tennis team opens the spring schedule with two matches against NAIA foes at the WoodPEC. The Eagles host Point University Friday afternoon before welcoming powerhouse and in-state for GGC to Atlanta on Saturday.
