Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Michele Smith to Speak at the TAKEOFF

Michele Smith, a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States softball team, is scheduled to speak at the 2017 version of the TAKEOFF which is slated for next Tuesday, September 5th, at 7:00 PM inside the WoodPEC arena.

Smith helped Team USA win gold at both the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics before shifting towards a broadcasting career following her playing days. She joined ESPN in 1998, serving as the network’s lead college softball color analyst. In 2012, Smith became the first woman to serve as commentator for a nationally-televised Major League Baseball game. Michele was inducted into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame in 2006. She stays involved in many community projects at home and abroad including motivational speaking to youth and adults.
