Emory To Host University Athletic Association SAAC Summer Meetings

Emory University Athletics will be hosting student-athletes and administrators from the University Athletic Association this Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 5-6) when the league’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Summer Meetings take place.

The two-day event allows the representatives to gather and discuss a variety of important topics that impacts both their peers and institutions at the conference and national levels. Among the issues that will be addressed include health and wellness, event management and sportsmanship, NCAA legislation and Division III’s connection to Special Olympics and how to grow the partnership.

A highlight of the weekend will be a presentation by former Emory Senior Vice President for Campus Life, Frances Lucas PhD. Lucas currently serves as the head of her consulting firm and is an associate with Emergenetics International, a brain-based approach to personality profiling that gives one the keys they need to discover not only their own natural strengths and talents, but also those of others.

Emory student-athletes attending the meetings include NJ Kim (baseball), Bennett Shaw (men’s cross country), Lana Herrmann (softball) and Grace Edgarton (women’s soccer).
