A certified athletic trainer will evaluate and treat intercollegiate athletic injures during regularly scheduled athletic training room hours. The Emory University certified athletic trainers work in conjunction with the team physicians to provide the highest quality sports medicine services to all varsity athletes. All acute injures should be reported to the sports medicine staff within 24 hours. If an injury should occur prior to or after the athletic training room hours, contact the first responder unit by dialing 911 and/or report to student health services. Adherence to the directions of the certified athletic trainers and team physicians concerning all rehabilitation and treatment is important for prompt recovery. Athletes are responsible for follow-up care of injuries until the certified athletic trainers and/or team physician the athlete for full activity.
