Claire Brock & Mia Han Named UAA Athletes of the Week

Two Emory University student-athletes were named as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week Monday afternoon following outstanding performances for the Eagles.

Junior Mia Han scored four of the Eagles' eight goals this weekend, helping Emory reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2013. Han netted a hat trick in the first 20 minutes of Saturday's 7-0 win vs. Piedmont before scoring the game-tying goal in the second OT period on Sunday to help send the game to penalty kicks where the Eagles advanced 4-2. It was her second career multi-goal game and first-ever hat trick.

Senior Claire Brock made a statement in the first week of the season for the women's basketball team, leading the Eagles to a 3-0 record while averaging 25.3 PPG and 8.0 RPG. Brock went for 20 or more points in all three wins including a career-high 33 points in Saturday's win at Colorado College and in the season opener, she recorded the second double-double of her career. Furthermore, she dished out six assists while shooting 61.7% from the field and 12-for-18 from three.

This is the first career weekly honor for Han and the fourth career honor for Brock.

The women's soccer program is set to battle Messiah Saturday night at 7:30pm in Pittsburgh while women's basketball will host the Emory Tip Off Classic this Saturday and Sunday at the WoodPEC with matchups set against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Piedmont.
