Sophomore Christopher Stern was outstanding for the Eagles at the plate as Emory opened the 2018 season with a doubleheader split at Piedmont. In game one, Stern went 6-for-6 with four RBI, tying the Emory single-game record for hits. In the nightcap, Stern was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
