Senior shortstop Nick Chambers was named the University Athletic Association's Co-Hitter of the Week as announced late Monday afternoon. It is the first time in his career he has earned the weekly honor.
Chambers had four multi-hit games and a pair of four RBI games to help the Eagles to a 4-0 record this past week against Berry, Stevens and Middlebury. Chambers hit for a sizzling .611 average (11-for-18) with three doubles, two stolen bases and led the team in both runs scored (6) and RBI (9).
For the season, Chambers has risen his average to .313, is tied for the team lead with four doubles and ranks second with 13 runs batted in.
The Eagles will be back in action Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference matchup against Birmingham-Southern College. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM at Chappell Park.
