Birmingham-Southern Snaps Emory Baseball's Win Streak in Mid-Week Contest

The Emory University Baseball program saw its saw four-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Birmingham-Southern College by a 13-6 score at Chappell Park in Atlanta.

The Panthers used four three-run innings in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to open up to a 12-1 lead before the Eagles scored five runs late to make it a seven-run ballgame.

Sophomore Jacob Greene and freshman Jack Rubenstein recorded two hits apiece for the Eagles to carry the offense. Rubenstein was one of five Emory batters to drive in a run in the contest to go along with senior Bubby Terp, junior Thomas Baumgartner, sophomore Michael Wilson and freshman Drew Bartholow.

Freshman Jack Moore dropped to 1-3 on the year after allowing eight runs in 4.1 innings. He struck out two and walked three.

The Eagles will try to get back into the win column when they return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 27th against Covenant College. First pitch from Chappell Park is set for 3:00 PM.
