Emory Baseball Drops Series Finale at Case Western Reserve

A four-run third inning proved to be difference as the Emory University Baseball team fell to No.-13 Case Western Reserve, 4-0, in the series finale Sunday morning at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio.

Freshman Matt Levine went the distance for the Spartans, needed just 103 pitches to record the complete game shutout. He held the Eagles to six hits, all singles, over the nine frames while striking out four.

Freshman Christian Bradley dropped his first game in an Emory uniform as he allowed all four runs in three innings of work as he made his first collegiate start. Senior Rhett Stuart turned in his best performance of the season in relief, retiring all 15 batters he faced including four punch outs.

CWRU scored its first run of the ball game on a wild pitch by Bradley before adding another on a sac fly by Noah Mehrle. Casey McConihe provided the big hit in the inning, bringing home two runs on a single to left.

Emory returns to Atlanta for its next nine games including eight at Chappell Park, starting with Washington University in St. Louis on Friday, April 6th at 3:00 PM.
