The Emory University baseball team closed out the regular season Sunday afternoon, dropping the final two games of the series to NYU at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY.

Junior James Robertson held the Violets' offense in check through the first seven innings, pitching a shutout until the NYU was able to scratch across a pair of unearned runs in the eighth.

The Eagles struck first, as freshman Zeke Diamond came across with an unearned run in the top of the first. The lead stood until the NYU answered in the eighth with Coleman Hendershot singling home Ryan Mclaughlin with the go-ahead run against freshman Jack Brodsky.

NYU's Ford Ladd and Joseph Prisco limited the Eagle bats to just one run on three hits in the first game of the afternoon.

NYU opened to a 4-0 advantage with three runs coming against senior Brian Taggett in the third inning, chasing him from the game. The Violets led 6-1 heading into the ninth before the Eagles put on a late charge, scoring twice with back-to-back two-out doubles by seniors NJ Kim and Eric Terry to cut the NYU lead to three.

Prisco was called up for his second save of the day, retiring senior Jackson Grayson for the final out of the contest.
