Emory Baseball Stumbles Tuesday at Berry

The Emory University baseball team lost a mid-week matchup against Berry College Tuesday night in Rome, GA.

The Vikings edged the Eagles, 11-2, in the second matchup between the two schools this season. With the win, Berry improves to 7-3 and the loss brings Emory to 6-6.

A seven-run seventh inning from the Vikings broke open a 4-2 ball game as the Eagles were done in by three errors including two in the seventh frame.

Senior Zeke Diamond and junior Henry Pelinski combined to tally all five Emory hits. Diamond highlighted the offense with a 3-for-4 game, recording two doubles and two runs scored.

Sophomore Tyler McLoughlin was handed the loss as he allowed four runs (2 ER) in 4.2 innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter. Of the seven runs the Emory bullpen allowed, only two were earned.

Following a five-game road swing the concluded Tuesday, the Eagles return to Chappell Park this Saturday as a doubleheader begins the series with Maryville.
