David Anderson joined the Emory Baseball coaching staff prior to the 2018 season as the team’s pitching coach. In addition to his duties with the Eagles, David is set to be the Head Coach of the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the Coastal Plain League, a wood-bat summer collegiate league based in the southeast.

Anderson comes to the Eagles after managing the Watertown Rapids of the Perfect Game League in Upstate NY. In the team’s inaugural season, Anderson led the Rapids to the organization’s first playoff appearance and a first round defeat of the reigning league champions. He mentored eight PGCBL All-Stars and four PGCBL All-League selections.

A Muhlenberg College graduate, Anderson also spent three seasons on the Mules’ coaching staff from 2015-17 including the 2017 season as the team’s pitching coach. During the 2017 campaign, Muhlenberg’s rotation set the all-time strikeouts record, posted the second lowest ERA in over 15 seasons and posted the lowest batting average against in over 15 years.

Following his collegiate career, Anderson played independent baseball with the Bridgeport Bluefish and New Jersey Jackals of the Atlantic League, one of the highest levels of independent professional leagues.

Anderson graduated with a degree in Business Management and Media and Communications in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida.
