Freshman Connor Yakubov enjoyed an impressive collegiate debut in helping the Emory golf team to a solid showing at the season-opening Rhodes College Fall Classic.

Yakubov paced the Emory effort with a 36-hole score of one-over par 145, which included a second-day score of one-under 71 that tied for the second-best individual mark of the day. Yakubov tied with Luke Farley of Washington and Lee for the No. 2 spot in the 93-player field with Berry College's Ryan Elmore taking home medalist honors after posting a 143 (70-73).

The rookie's two-day performance helped the Eagles to a fourth-place tie out of 17 teams.
