Emory Golf Defends Title At UAA Championships

The Emory golf team defended its University Athletic Association title on Sunday, posting a close victory over Carnegie Mellon University in the title match.  The Championships were played at the 6,972-yard, par 72 Hammock Beach Resort Course in Palm Coast, Florida.

Using a match-play format, Emory posted a 3-2 decision over the Tartans.  Sophomore Connor Yakubov provided Emory with its winning margin, posting a par on a playoff hole. Below are the results of the match-play competitions

Nikhil Mohan (CMU) 2&1 over Keenan Hickton (EU)
Matt Organisak (EU) 7&5 over Adrian Del Bosque (CMU)
Noah Apter (EU) 5&4 over Brad Jeanette (CMU)
Connor Yakubov (EU) 19 holes over Patrick Tan (CMU)

Emory had two representatives, Matt Organisak and Connor Yakubov on the Championships All-Tournament Team. 

Next up for the No. 5-ranked Eagles is a trip to the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, Mar. 17-19.
