Stefano Butti Lands UAA Golf Honor

Emory sophomore Stefano Butti (Palm City, FL) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer of the Week following his performance at the prestigious Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.  It is the first time this year and second in his career that he has been selected for the honor.

Butti helped the No. 5-ranked Eagles to a fifth-place finish out of 29 teams by firing a 54-hole score of 215 (71-71-73), which tied for fifth place out of 150 players.  Butti's effort tied the program's fourth-best mark for a 54-hole tournament. He fired one-under par rounds of 71 on the first two days of action before carding a 73 over the final 18 holes. Butti earned a spot on the Jekyll Island Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Invitational was played at the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

So far during the 2016-17 season, Butti is averaging 74.0 strokes over 10 round of play.

Emory returns to action, Mar. 27-28, when it competes at the Huntingdon College Spring Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama.
