Coming off a strong performance at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, the No. 5-ranked Emory golf team will focus on the Huntingdon College Spring Intercollegiate, which will be held on Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 27-28). The 36-hole event will be played on the 6,979-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Country Club Course in Montgomery, Alabama.
Emory will be one of 14 schools competing in the tournament, which will include four of the top 10 programs in D-III. No. 1-ranked and host Huntingdon College looks to defend its title after topping Emory by six shots a year ago. In addition to Emory, other top-10 programs taking part include No. 2 UT-Tyler and No. 9 LaGrange.
Emory registered a fifth-place finish out 29 teams at the Jekyll Island Tournament, posting a 54-hole score of 882. Sophomore Stefano Butti was the team's top scorer, firing a one-under par 215, tying for fifth place out of 150 players. Freshman Matt Oranisak tied for 10th with an effort of 218. Both Butti and Organisak were members of the all-tournament team.
