Emory sophomore Connor Yakubov (Columbus, OH) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Discover DeKalb Emory Invitational.  It is the first time this year and fifth in his career that he has been selected for the honor.  The Invitational was played at the 6,510-yard, par-70 Smoke Rise Country Club in nearby Stone Mountain.

Yakubov helped the No. 4-ranked Eagles to a second-place finish out of 15 teams by firing a 36-hole score of 140 (73-67), which ranked fifth out of 87 players.  His final round score of three-under 67 was a career best and tied the program's all-time second-lowest 18-hole effort, while his 140 tied for third on school's all-time chart for a 36-hole event. His fifth-place finish enabled him to claim a spot on the Invitational All-Tournament Team.

So far during the 2016-17 season, Yakubov is averaging 76.3 strokes over 16 rounds of play.
