Emory Golfers Earn All-Region & All-Scholar Recognition

The Emory men's golf team was well represented with two sets of awards that were recently announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The Eagles saw three members of the program earn Division III PING All-South Region accolades while one was named an All-America Scholar.

All-Region teams were selected for six regions throughout the country. Emory sophomore Stefano Butti along with freshmen Matt Organisak and Chuck Isgar were named to the All-South Region Team. For Butti, who finished in a tie for ninth place at the NCAA D-III Championships, it is the second straight year that he played his way to all-region accolades. Butti wound up the season registering a team-lead six rounds of par of better, and averaged 73.9 strokes over 18 rounds of action. Oragnisak competed in all nine of the team's tournaments and averaged 74.1 strokes over 23 rounds. Isgar averaged 72.6 strokes over seven rounds and fired an opening round of three-under par 68 on the opening day of play at the Golfweek D-III Fall Invitational which represented the team's second-best score of the season.

Junior Keenan Hickton was among 44 golfers named as a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for Division III. Hickton was one of three golfers from the University Athletic Association to receive recognition.

To be eligible for Division III All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, have competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participated in at least 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds and have a stroke-average under 79 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
