The No. 6-ranked Emory University golf team completed its second round of action at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. The 54-hole tourney is being played at the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.
The Eagles moved up three spots from Friday and stand third out of 30 teams, after firing an even-par 288 on the second day of play, giving them a 36-hole score of 582. Methodist will enter Sunday's final round in first with a mark of 575 (293-282) while Guilford College holds down the No. 2 position at 580.
Emory sophomore Matt Organisak paced the Emory effort on Saturday with his second straight one-under par 71, with his two-round total of 142 tying for eighth in the 150-player field. Senior Keenan Hickton and freshman Eric Yiu contributed to the cause with each player carding even-par 72 while junior Stefano Butti closed out the team's scorers with a 73. Both Hickton and Butti are tied for 25th with two-day scores of 147. Junior Connor Yakubov shot a 77 and stands at 151 as does Yiu.
James Mishoe of Guilford claims the No. 1 position with a seven-under par 137 (67-70) while Lawrence Courtney of Kenyon and Cade Osgood of Southwestern (Tex.) are in hot pursuit with both players standing at 138.
