Fresh off a runner-up effort at the Gordin Classic, the No. 1-ranked Emory golf team continues the fall portion of the schedule on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 8-9) when it competes at the Tartan Invitational. The 54-hole event will be played at the historic Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. 36 holes will be played on Monday with the final round slated for Tuesday. Serving as the host will be Carnegie Mellon University.

Of the 12 teams taking part in the Invitational, seven are ranked in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Top 25 Poll. In addition to the top-ranked Eagles, other top-10 schools taking part include No. 2 Methodist, No. 4 Wittenberg, No. 11 Carnegie Mellon, No. 15 Greensboro, No. 18 Oglethorpe and No. 22 Berry.
Comprising the Emory lineup for the tournament will be junior Matt Organisak, senior Connor Yakubov, sophomore Eric Yiu, junior Sam Galloway and freshman Logan Ryan.
Emory concluded the Gordin Classic with a 54-hole mark of eight-under par 856, six shots behind first-place finisher Illinois Wesleyan. The Eagles' score represented the program's second-best effort ever for a 54-hole tourney, with Logan Ryan leading the contingent with a six-under 210 (70-71-69), good for second place in the 90-player field. Organisak turned in a stellar performance as well, carding a 211 (70-73-68) that ranked third on the leader board.
Designed by Dick Wilson and renovated by Arnold Palmer, the Laurel Valley golf course opened in 1959. Since its opening, the club has hosted a number of notable tournaments including the 1965 PGA Championship, the 1975 Ryder Cup and 2005 Senior PGA Championship.
