The No. 1-ranked Emory University golf program continued its stellar fall season on Tuesday, setting a school record while playing its way to a first-place finish at the Golfweek DIII Fall Invitational. The 54-hole tournament was played on the 6,659-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.

The Eagles topped the 18-team field, carding a final round score of six-under par 278 (best score of the day) to finish at 10-under 842, with that mark shattering the program record for a 54-hole competition.  The previous standard was 855 at the 2017 Rhodes College Fall Classic. This year's squad now holds the first-, third- and fourth-best scores in school history for 54-hole tournaments. Emory finished nine shots ahead of runner-up and No. 3-ranked Huntingdon College (289-281-281—851), and 14 better than Southwestern University (282-292-282—856).  No. 2-ranked Methodist was fourth at 861 while No. 5 Illinois Wesleyan posted a fifth-place finish with a showing of 865.

Freshman Logan Ryan paced the Emory contingent over the final round, shooting a four-under 67 that tied as the day's best score and that left him as the Eagles' top performer for the Invitational with a five-under par 208 (67-74-67), good for fourth place in the 90-player field as well as the program's second-best individual mark ever for a three-round tournament.  Junior Matt Organisak bettered par for the second time over the three days, coming through with a two-under par 69 that left him at three-under 210, good for a seventh-place tie on the leaderboard. Senior Connor Yakubov and sophomore Eric Yiu rounded out the team's scorers over the final 18 holes with both players shooting even-par 71s and each finishing tied for 12th place overall at even-par 213.  Junior Sam Galloway checked in with a final-round 75 and ended the Invitational at 221.

Emory will close out the fall portion of the schedule next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 22-23) when it sends representatives to the Chick-fil-A Collegiate held at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Georgia.
