The No. 1-ranked Emory University golf team will compete in its first tournament of the spring on Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 4-5) when it takes part in the Club at Savannah Harbor Classic.   The 36-hole event will be played at the 7,084-yard, par-72 Club at Savannah Harbor Golf Course. The Eagles were originally scheduled to compete at the Tournament at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, but that event was cancelled because of the effects that excessive rain has had on the course.

Emory will be one of 18 teams taking part at the Harbor Classic, with this year's field comprised of six of the top 10-ranked D-III programs in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll including #2 Huntingdon, # 5 Wittenberg, #6 Guilford College, #8 Methodist and # 9 Washington and Lee.

During the fall portion of the season, junior Matt Organisak logged all 12 rounds of play over four varsity competitions, posting an average of 70.8 strokes per outing which included a team-best nine rounds of par or better. Freshman Logan Ryan registered a scoring average of 71.9 strokes over 12 rounds and recorded par or better on six occasions.

Competing for Emory in its spring opener will be Organisak, Ryan, sophomore Eric Yiu, senior Connor Yakubov and junior Sam Galloway.

Following the Harbor Classic, the Eagles will look to defend their UAA Championship, Mar. 9-10, at the Hammock Dunes Resort in Florida.
