Logan Ryan Tabbed For UAA Golf Honor

Freshman Logan Ryan has been selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational.  It is the third time during the 2018-19 season that he has been honored by the league.

Ryan helped the No. 1-ranked Eagles to a first-place finish out of 30 teams at the prestigious tournament with Emory shooting a 54-hole score of 858, three shots better than runner-up Huntingdon College.

Ryan landed all-tournament honors after leading the team and tying for fourth place in the 150-player field, shooting a 54-hole score of five-under par 211. After carding a one-over 73 on the opening day of action, Ryan fired back-to-back rounds of three-under par 69.  He finished with a flourish during Sunday's final round, registering birdies on the final five holes. His final score tied the program's sixth-best mark in school history for a 54-hole event.

So far this year, Ryan has played in 17 rounds and is averaging 72.3 strokes per outing. He has shot par or better in eight rounds.

Emory returns to action on Apr. 1-2 when it competes at the Huntingdon Spring Intercollegiate at the Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
