Emory senior Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Gordin Classic (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1). It is the first time this year and eighth in his career that he has been chosen for the honor. The 54-hole Invitational was played on the 7,097-yard, par-72 Columbus Country Club in Ohio.
Organisak paced the Eagles' contingent and tied for fifth place out of 75 players after carding a final score of five-under par 211 (70-68-73) that tied the program's sixth-best individual score for 54 holes. His second-round performance of four-under par 68 represented the best score by an Emory player at the tournament.
Emory wrapped up the Classic with a third-place finish out of 15 teams.
So far this fall, Organisak is averaging a team-best 71.5 strokes over six rounds (two tournaments) and has shot par or better on four occasions.
The Eagles return to action, Oct. 13-15 when they compete at the Golfweek DIII Invitational in Sandestin, Florida.
