Sophomore Matt Davet spearheaded a strong offensive attack in helping the No. 18-ranked Emory men's basketball team to a season-opening win.

The 6-foot-7 Davet logged 22 minutes off the bench and led five Eagle double-figure scorers with a career-high 25 points in a 98-80 triumph over Piedmont College. Davet ended the evening seven-of-13 from the field, including three-of-seven from beyond arc, and converted eight charity tosses in 12 attempts in notching his second career outing of 20 or more points.
