Sophomore Matt Schner ranked as the top scorer and rebounder for the Emory men's basketball team in its NCAA Tournament opening-round game vs. Wittenberg.

The 6-foot-4 Schner led all players with 25 points, his second-highest career total, and tied for game honors with seven rebounds as the Tigers topped the Eagles by a 100-88 margin. Schner closed out the contest sinking a career-high 10 field goals in 13 attempts, including a personal-best tying four treys in six tries, while going four-of-six from the stripe in registering his 20th double-figure scoring performance of the season and third of 20 or more points. His offensive output represented the fifth time this year that he ranked as the team's leading scorer while his rebounding number represented the eighth occasion that he paced the squad in that department.

Schner finished out the season shooting 50 percent or better from the field in six of his last seven and in a total of 17 contests. He shot a team-high 58.6 percent (139-of-237) from the floor, good for fifth place in the league and the No. 2 spot on the program's seasonal ladder. His 45.5 percent (40-of-88) effort from three-point range, lead the conference and slotted him the No. 8 spot on the program's seasonal list.
