Junior Matt Schner helped the No. 6-ranked Emory men's basketball team to a pair of home win over South Region foes.

The 6-foot-4 Schner averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over the two contests that saw the Eagles raise their record to 4-0. In addition, he shot 50 percent (10-of-20) from the floor, including 40 percent (4-of-10) from three-point range, and doled out a team-high 10 assists.

Schner was one of five Emory double-figure scorers in a home-opening 94-70 triumph over Sewanee, ending that game 5-of-10 from the field and 2-of-3 from the charity stripe. He finished that affair with six boards, second high on the squad, and a team-leading five assists. He followed that performance by tying for the team lead with 19 points in an 84-60 verdict over Oglethorpe, turning in another 5-of-10 field goal shooting outing which saw him knock down four treys in six tries. He placed second on the squad with eight caroms and his five assists paced the Eagles in that department.
