Former Eagle Lawrence Rowley Still Dancing in March with Princeton's Sweet 16 Run

Former Emory University men's basketball standout Lawrence Rowley is still dancing this March as the Princeton University Tigers have advanced to the Sweet 16 in the Division I men's basketball tournament. Rowley, who played for Emory University from 2017 through 2021, is in his first season as a member of the coaching staff.

Princeton knocked off the University of Arizona in the opening round before handling Missouri two days later. The Tigers are just the fourth 15-seed to ever make it the Sweet 16, joining Florida Gulf Coast University (2013), Oral Roberts University (2021) and Saint Peter's University (2022) as programs that have pulled off magical runs.

Rowley was a three-year standout for the Eagles, earning 2020 UAA Defensive Player of the Year honors and was a two-time All-UAA Second Team selection. Despite losing his senior season due to COVID-19, Rowley ranks second on the school's all-time field goal percentage ladder (.560, 298-for-532), 10th all-time in both rebounding per game and blocks per game, and is 17th with 479 career rebounds.

Away from the court Rowley made his presence felt, serving as the men's basketball representative on the Emory University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served as one of four school representatives at annual All-UAA conference where team building seminar was conducted along with voting on legislation proposed by multiple NCAA teams. Furthermore, Rowley was honored as a member of the Class of 2021 Emory 100 Senior Honorary.

Princeton is set to face Creighton University on Friday, March 24 at 9:00 PM ET for a spot in the Elite Eight. The game will be televised on TBS.
