Jones gave Emory a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute, scoring his third goal of the season with a header off a pass from Adam Waxman.

He helped the Eagles to a 4-0 upset win over the seventh-ranked University of Rochester on Friday night, holding the Yellowjackets to just three shots on goal, only one of which was in the second half.

    (Soccer - Offense) Emory University sophomore Andrew Natalino recorded the first hat trick by an Eagle in over two years during the team’s 4-0 win over Maryville College on Friday. Natalino scored his first goal just a minute and 22 seconds into the contest, placing a one-touch shot into the back of the net. In the 16th-minute, midfielder/defender struck with a long shot from outside the box for his second goal of the contest.

    (Soccer – Defense) Emory University junior Trenton Spindler made a season-best nine saves to lead the 18th-ranked Eagles to a 4-0 win over Maryville College. Spindler played all 90 minutes of the contest, facing 18 total shots and turning away all nine that were on goal. He earned his sixth shutout of the season during the game, improving to 11-1-2 overall.

Natalino scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick during the Eagles’ 3-1 triumph over Oglethorpe University on Wednesday. In University Athletic Association (UAA) action on Sunday, the defender scored the game-tying goal on a penalty kick against Brandeis University, helping the Eagles play to a 1-1 tie.

Samuels’ goal, his team-leading fifth of the season, came at the 80:59 mark of the game to break the scoreless tie.

    (Soccer – Defense) Emory University senior Adam Waxman helped lead the Eagles’ defense to its team-record ninth-consecutive shutout, during a 1-0 win over the University of Chicago. Waxman played all 90 minutes of the contest, allowing just seven total shots and four shots on goal. It was the 10th shutout overall this season for the Eagles’ defense, which has not allowed a goal over the last 903 minutes and 44 seconds of game time.

Spindler played all 110 minutes of the double-overtime game, making five saves during the contest.

Playing all 270 minutes of Emory soccer during the week, Natalino led an Emory defense that gave up just one goal in three contests, while allowing just 15 shots on goal.
