Men's Soccer Hosts Youth Camp with FirstWorks Soccer and City of Refuge

For the second spring in a row, the Emory University Men's Soccer program ran a mini-soccer camp for Atlanta's inner city youths along with FirstWorks Soccer Inc. and City of Refuge.

FirstWorks Soccer is utilizing soccer, exposure, and character building to help inner city youths obtain 100% high school graduation, 100% employment as soccer referees, and to establish a strong soccer program where the focus is on the fundamentals of the game.

Coach Lu's intent for bringing his players to Emory University is to inspire them to dream beyond their current environment.

"We want to continue this yearly where in the spring we bring them to participate in a soccer training session and in the fall, we bring them to watch the team play and support the players and coaches who train them in the spring," stated Coach Lu. "In the summer, we want to send a few to the Emory Boy's summer camp to develop in the game."
