Emory University junior Aidan Datené has been named the University Athletic Association Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It is the first career honor for the Cortlandt Manor, NY native.
Datené scored Emory's first goal of the game against WashU on Saturday as the Eagles went on to knock off the Bears, 2-1, in the UAA opener for both teams. Datené also played all 90 minutes on defense as the Eagles limited WashU to eight shots total including just four on target.
Emory resumes play Tuesday night on the road at Piedmont before traveling to Chicago, IL with a UAA showdown with the top-ranked Maroons on Saturday.
