The Emory University Men's Soccer team begins a three-game stretch of University Athletic Association contests on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Chicago, IL to face the No.-1/2 ranked University of Chicago Maroons at 12:00 PM EST.

The Eagles sit tied atop the UAA standings after one week of action follow their 2-1 win over Washington University last Saturday. Chicago was also victorious in its UAA opener, handling the University of Rochester, 4-1. The Eagles and Maroons are tied in the top spot with Carnegie Mellon and Brandeis which also recorded wins in their respective UAA openers.
In addition to Emory at Chicago, this week's UAA slate features the Tartans at the Judges, Case Western Reserve at New York University and Rochester at WashU.

The Eagles travel to Chicago rolling of late, winners of six straight games while outscoring opponents 17-5, and are currently receiving votes in this week's D3Soccer.com National top-25 poll. Emory is coming off a 5-2 drubbing of Piedmont College Tuesday night where senior Jason McCartney notched his team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the year, tying his career-high. He is currently tied for second among UAA leaders in goals and is tied for third in the conference with 15 points. Seniors Adam Ferguson, Christian Meyer and junior Tyler Santee added goals for the Eagles as Emory notched its longest winning-streak since 2015. The Eagles limited the Lions to just two shots in the game, the ninth time this season where the Emory defensive unit held opponents to under 10 shots and fifth time they held an opposing team to two shots on goal or fewer. For the year, the Eagles rank 38th in Division III with a 0.698 goals-against average. Freshman Cole Gallagher ranks as the UAA leader in save percentage (.917), goals-against (1) and goals-against average (0.20) while sophomore Trevor Stormes has registered wins between the posts in the last two matches, improving to 4-1 on the year.

The Maroons, sitting at a perfect 11-0-0 on the year and 28-1-2 in their last 31 games, enter Saturday's matchup ranked No.-1 in the United Soccer Coaches Association top-25 and No.-2 in the D3Soccer.com national poll. UC features the 10th-highest highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 3.36 goals per game, led by junior forward and 2016 First-Team All-American Max Lopez. So far in 2017, Lopez paces the UAA in goals (13), points (29) and tops all Division III qualifiers with seven game-winning tallies. The Maroons also are headlined on the offensive end by junior Matthew Koh and sophomore Dayo Adeosun who have each posted a UAA-leading seven assists on the season. Defensively, Chicago ranks 21st in Division III with a .545 goals-against average with a unit featuring 2016 UAA MVP Nicco Capotosto and senior goalkeeper Hill Bonin (11-0-0, 0.56 GAA). The Maroons are coached by Mike Babst who is 61-18-9 overall in five seasons with the program.

Emory leads the all-time series 20-8-2 but is 1-2 against the Maroons over the last three meetings. During 2016's matchup, Chicago edged the Eagles 2-0 in Atlanta.
