Jason McCartney Named to All-America Third Team by United Soccer Coaches

One day after being named to the United Soccer Coaches South Atlantic All-Region First Team, Emory University Men's Soccer senior Jason McCartney collected another honor from the organization as he was selected to the All-America Third Team. The United Soccer Coaches' All-America teams were announced Thursday night in conjunction with the annual NCAA Championships banquet, held in Greensboro, N.C.

McCartney becomes the 15th United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) All-American in men's soccer program history and the first since Andrew Natalino in 2010. Previously this postseason, McCartney garnered First Team All-Region and All-UAA honors and was chosen as a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection for the second straight year.

The Raleigh, N.C. native had an outstanding senior campaign as he led the Eagles to just their second NCAA Division III Quarterfinals appearance in team history and first since 1988. McCartney finished the year as the team leader in six offensive categories including goals (13), points (29) and multi-goal games (5).

Over the course of his four-year career, McCartney accumulated 23 goals and 13 assists for 59 points while appearing in 73 contests including 69 starts.
