Men's Soccer Ranked No. 5 and No. 7 in Latest D3Soccer.com/United Soccer Coaches National Polls

The Emory University Men's Soccer team, off to its best four-game start since 2013, finds itself ranked inside the top-7 according to two national publications as the rankings were released earlier this week.

In the first edition of the D3Soccer.com top-25 poll released Tuesday afternoon, the Eagles were slotted No. 5 with 731 points, behind Calvin, Messiah, Chicago and Amherst. The No. 5 ranking is the highest the Eagles have achieved in the history of the poll which began releasing weekly rankings in 2009.

In the United Soccer Coaches poll also released on Tuesday, the Eagles moved up one spot to the No. 7 spot from No. 8, their highest position in the United Soccer Coaches/NSCAA rankings since Week 6 of the 2014 season. Messiah, Chicago, Tufts, St. Thomas, Calvin and Rochester round out this week's top-7 in the poll.

Through the first four games of the season, senior Moustafa Khattab and junior Jun Tsuru are tied for the team lead with six points with senior Tyler Santee posting two goals for four points. Tsuru ranks among the nation's leaders in assists per game, checking in at third with a 1.0 average and seventh with four assists while Khattab is currently 10th in the country with two game-winning goals.

Emory returns to the Woodruff PE Center with a pair of non-conference matches this weekend. On Saturday, the Eagles face Millsaps before taking on SUNY-Maritime on Sunday. Both start times are set for 5:00 PM.
