Men's Soccer Rolls Past Birmingham-Southern, 3-0, for Seventh Consecutive Win

The Emory University Men's Soccer team used a three-goal second half to roll past Birmingham-Southern College, 3-0, Wednesday night at Preston Goldfarb Field at Berylson Soccer Park in Birmingham, AL.

Senior Moustafa Khattab and junior Jun Tsuru each accounted for three points on the evening while sophomore Josh Berman added a score in the win. The Eagles held a 24-5 advantage in shots including an 11-2 margin in shots on goal.

After heading into the halftime break tied at 0-0, Berman put Emory on the scoreboard in short order to begin the second half. Berman blasted home a shot to the top right corner 90 seconds into the half following the pass from Tsuru. The goal was Berman's third of the season.

In the 64th minute, Tsuru netted a goal of his own as he slotted one past the BSC goalkeeper after a great thru ball from Khattab hit Tsuru in stride right outside the six-yard box. Khattab provided the insurance goal for the Eagles in the 80th minute, scoring his team-leading fifth marker straight on from 20 yards out off the pass from classmate Aidan Datené.

The Eagles, now 7-0 on the season, will be back in action this Tuesday, September 25th, when the team hosts Sewanee University from the WoodPEC beginning at 7:00 PM.
