Men's Soccer Remains Perfect with 4-0 Win over Sewanee

The Emory University Men's Soccer team remained perfect on the season Tuesday night, handling the Sewanee Tigers, 4-0, at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, GA.

The Eagles, now an unblemished 8-0 on the season, saw four different players make their way into the scoring column including two seniors who recorded their goals of the season. Emory has now turned in four straight clean sheets, limited the Tigers to four shots on goal during the contest, finishing with a 9-4 edge.

Senior Aidan Datené was the first to find the back of the net on the evening, heading in a Moustafa Khattab corner kick to the near post in the 18th minute. The goal was Datené's first of the year.

Less than seven minutes later, junior Jun Tsuru made it 2-0 beating the goalie to the far post on a great through ball to the top of the 18 by classmate Keegan McCombie. McCombie rounded out the first half scoring in the 42nd minute, converting on a penalty kick.

Senior Tyler Walsh tallied the final score of the night for the Eagles, redirecting an off target shot by junior William Jones in the 55th minute.

Emory travels to St. Louis, MO this Saturday for the University Athletic Association opener against the WashU Bears. Action is set to get underway at 12:00 PM EST.

Notes

Tuesday marks just the ninth 8-0 start in team history and first since 2010…The Eagles extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games (12-0-1) dating back to last season, tied for the fourth longest streak in program history.
