Emory Men's Soccer Drops Overtime Heartbreaker at Brandeis

Andrew Allen's game-winning goal with 14.5 seconds remaining in double overtime handed the No. 24/10 ranked Emory University Men's Soccer team a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Brandeis University Sunday afternoon at Gordon Field in Waltham, MA.

Allen's first shot attempt from the middle of the box was blocked by Emory defenders but he was able to gather the rebound and slot a left footed shot inside the right post to secure the overtime win for the Judges.

Brandeis owned a 22-13 edge in shots during the game and held Emory to just two shots on goal. Sophomore Cole Gallagher tied a career-high with seven saves including several big diving stops over the final 15 minutes of regulation to help push the game to overtime.

The Eagles will try to snap their current five-game winless streak Tuesday night as the team hosts crosstown rival Oglethorpe University. Action from the WoodPEC is set to get underway at 5:00 PM.
