Men's Soccer Announces 2019 Schedule

The Emory University men's soccer team has released its 2019 schedule as put together by Head Coach Cory Greiner. The slate is set to get underway on August 31st and September 1st with the annual Sonny Carter Invitational.

The 18-game schedule features seven teams that qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament in 2018 including Final Four teams in the University of Chicago or University of Rochester. In addition, six programs on the upcoming schedule finished the season inside the top-25 or receiving votes in the final United Soccer Coaches national rankings.

Of the 18 matches, 11 will be played on the Eagles' home field at the Woodruff PE Center. During Greiner's tenure as head coach, Emory has turned in a 13-5-1 record in games played at home.

The 2019 slate will begin with a pair of matches against California programs as Pomona-Pitzer and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps make the trek down south for the season kick-off tournament. The Eagles will follow their home invitational with two more tilts at the WoodPEC against crosstown foe Oglethorpe University on September 6th and Birmingham-Southern on September 8th.

After a meeting on the road against Washington & Lee University on September 13th, Greiner's squad will travel to Dallas to square off against Mary-Hardin Baylor and UT-Dallas on the 21st and 22nd.

The team rounds out the month of September with back-to-back contests against SAA competition, first against Sewanee on the 25th before a home date versus Rhodes College on the 29th.

The month of October begins with the UAA opener on October 5th against the University of Chicago before two straight home games against Covenant on October 8th and Washington University in St. Louis on October 12th.

The road portion of the schedule concludes with UAA matchups against Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon on October 18th and 20th.

Following the final home non-conference matchup against Piedmont homecoming weekend on the 27th, the Eagles host UAA foes Brandeis (Nov. 1st), NYU (Nov. 3rd) and Rochester (Nov. 9th) to conclude the regular season.

Emory, coming off a 9-7-2 season, looks to get underway with a match against the Sagehens on August 31st. For the full schedule, please click here.
