Andrew Wilson finished fourth overall in the 200 Breaststroke on Wednesday night in the first of four events the former Eagle will compete in this week at the Phillips 66 National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Wilson was part of a loaded field in the championship final, competing against 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist Josh Prenot and 2016 Olympian qualifier Kevin Cordes as well as Will Licon and former UGA standout Nicolas Fink.

Cordes and Wilson were neck and neck through the first 100 meters as both swimmers were under the world record pace but Cordes began to pull away over the final 50 to win the title in a time of 2:07.41. Wilson touched fourth in a time of 2:08.82 and was joined in the top-four by Fink (2:08.63) and Prenot (2:08.72).

In the morning session, Wilson put forth a dominant showing, winning the final heat by almost a body length over Prenot. Wilson threw down a personal-best mark of 2:08.64, the fastest time during the preliminaries.

Wilson returns to action on Thursday as he is set to compete in the 50 Breaststroke. Prelims are set to begin at 11:27 AM EST and can be seen live on USASwimming.org.
