Oliver Smith, Thomas Gordon Compete on Final Day of U.S. National Championships

Rising senior Oliver Smith and rising junior Thomas Gordon of the Emory University Men's Swimming and Diving team were in action Saturday afternoon on the final day of competition of the Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Smith took part in the 50 Freestyle, placing fourth in heat five and 23rd overall during the morning's preliminaries. Smith touched with a new long-course personal best time of 22.90.

After finishing 46th in the 1,500 Freestyle on Monday, Gordon returned to the pool to swim in the 800 Freestyle on Saturday. Gordon recorded a time of 8:29.34 to place 49th overall.

Former Eagle Andrew Wilson was scheduled to swim in the 200 IM as well on the final day but chose not to compete. Wilson was three-time top-four finisher at the U.S. national championships, taking second in the 50 Breaststroke and fourth in both the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes.
