Sage Ono Earns UAA Men's Swimmer of the Week Award

Emory University sophomore Sage Ono from the Men's Swimming and Diving team was named the University Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon. It is the first honor for Ono this season and the second of his career.

Ono collected the solo event win for the Eagles on both the men's and women's side in Saturday's dual meet defeat at Georgia Tech. He turned in a NCAA B Cut time of 49.91 to win the 100 Backstroke, posting the lone sub-50 second time in the event. Ono added a pair of top-three showings swimming the first leg as a member of the 200 Free Relay with seniors Aaron Schwartz, Oliver Smith and junior Trey Kolleck (2nd, 1:22.56) and 200 Medley Relay with Kolleck, Smith and senior Cooper Tollen (3rd, 1:33.18).

The Eagles round out the dual meet portion of their schedule this Saturday, February 3rd against the University of Georgia, beginning at 11:00 AM.
