Men's Swimming & Diving Win Five Events on Saturday to Clinch Home Invite

The Emory University Men's Swimming and Diving team continued its strong performance at its home invitational on Saturday, tallying another five event wins en route to winning the two-day meet by 116 points. The Eagles finished the meet with 626 points, outscoring Wingate (510), Carson-Newman (470) and Catawba (266).

Senior Trey Kolleck claimed his second individual event win of the weekend as he was one of three Eagles to net solo victories on the afternoon. Kolleck took first in the 100 Freestyle, posting the lone NCAA B Cut time of the day with a mark of 20.53. Adding individual wins for Emory were sophomore Kellen Stillman in the 200 Freestyle (1:41.88) and classmate Sven Mesihovic (4:03.37).

Emory also swept both relay events on the afternoon as Kolleck, junior Sage Ono and freshmen Tyler Russell and Hwa Min Sim posted a time of 1:32.48 in the 200 Medley and Kolleck, Ono, senior Zachary Chen and freshman Will O'Daffer touched at 3:04.69 in the 400 Freestyle.

In addition to the five event wins, the Eagles saw eight more top-three finishes on Saturday including three second place efforts by Chen in the 50 Free (21.00), Sim in the 100 Butterfly (50.68) and freshman Zach Lorson in the 400 IM (4:04.68). Rounding out the top finishes for Emory were Ono in the 50 Free (3rd, 21.25), senior Matt Rogers in the 100 Backstroke (3rd, 52.27), freshman Jason Hamilton in the 200 Breaststroke (3rd, 2:08.52), junior Andrew duPont in the 200 Freestyle (3rd, 1:43.53) and freshman Sean Byman in the 400 IM (3rd, 4:08.62).

The Eagles return to the pool at the end of the month when the team takes part in both the Denison and SCAD Invitationals from November 29th through December 1st.
