Bumgarner Takes Second in 3-meter Event at NCAA Regionals

Freshman Lucas Bumgarner had another strong showing at the NCAA Regional Diving Championships, finishing second in the 3-meter event on Saturday. The regionals were hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA.

Following his first place performance in the 1-meter on Friday, Bumgarner again topped the 500 mark as he recorded a total score of 526.80 to win silver in the event. Bumgarner and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Kendall Hollimon led all competitors on Saturday with Hollimon posted a winning score of 537.30. Trinity's Daniel Valmssei came in third in the 3-meter at 464.40.

By virtue of his win on Friday, Bumgarner secured on of the region's four allocations for nationals later this month in Greensboro, North Carolina.
