Emory University freshman Lucas Bumgarner was named the University Athletic Association Men's Diver of the Week as announced late Monday afternoon.
Bumgarner secured first and second place showings at the NCAA Region 2 Championships over the weekend in Grinnell, IA to earn a berth to the NCAA Championships later this month. Bumgarner topped the 500 mark in both events, recording a career-high score of 518.95 to win the 1-meter on Friday before finishing second with a score of 526.80 in the 3-meter on Saturday.
The NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships are slated to get underway Wednesday, March 20th and continue until Saturday, March 23rd.
