Emory University finished third at the NCAA Division III national team championship. This is the third consecutive year Emory reached the national semifinals. It was second in 2002 and won the national title last year.
This is the 13th consecutive year the team reached the national quarterfinals. This year, Emory beat Washington (Mo.), 4-0, in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Emory lost to the eventual national champion, Middlebury (Vt.), 4-1. Emory then won the third-place match with a come-from-behind 4-3 win against California-Santa Cruz.
Emory ended the season with a 24-2 record, its only other loss in the season opener to Division I Georgia Tech. The Eagles were 11-1 against national top-25 Division III teams.
Emory concluded the NCAA individual championships with a school-record five All-Americans. The previous record was three on multiple occasions.
The pairing of Mark Odgers and Alex Jacobs was accorded the honor after receiving the top seed for the NCAA doubles championship. The two were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Odgers also made the All-America team in singles after receiving the No. 6 seed for the NCAA singles championship. He was eliminated in the round of 32 in the NCAA singles tournament.
Tyson Ramsay reached the round of 16 in the NCAA singles tournament to become a singles All-American. He won his opening match, 7-5, 6-2, in an upset against the No. 5 seed, Brian Casey of Califonia-Santa Cruz, who had beaten Ramsay in the team tournament the day before. In the round of 16, Ramsay was forced to retire in the third set against Andrew Murray of Williams (Mass.), an eventual semifinalist.
The trio join Patrick Redmond and Jesse Ferlianto, who both made the All-America team based on last fall. Redmond won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional singles championship while Ferlianto did the same in doubles with Odgers (Jacobs was studying abroad). Redmond finished fifth at the ITA fall national championship while Odgers-Ferlianto placed second.
Emory captured its 15th consecutive University Athletic Association (UAA) title. Six Emory players were selected to the all-conference team. UAA Coaching Staff of the Year honors went to Emory Head Coach John Browning and his assistants, Kyle Nelson and Tomas Szabados.

Jesse Ferlianto
Ferlianto became an All-American for the first time in his career.
He did so by winning the regional doubles title, along with Mark
Odgers, at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association fall
championships. The duo advanced to the ITA national tournament
where it finished second among Division III doubles competitors.
Ferlianto compiled a 24-1 record in singles this season, including
a perfect 16-0 in the No. 6 singles position. He was 11-0 in
singles against opponents from nationally ranked top-25 teams. His
season singles win percentage, .960, is a school record, while his
24 wins ties for the 10th-highest total ever at Emory. Ferlianto
also set a school record with 27 doubles wins (against three
losses) this season and his doubles win percentage, .900, this
season is the fourth best in school history. He and teammate
Patrick Redmond were 12th in the final regional doubles rankings.
After two seasons, Ferlianto has career records of 36-5 in singles
and 38-9 in doubles.
Alex Jacobs
For the third consecutive year, Jacobs made the All-America team in
doubles. He and partner Mark Odgers finished fourth in the final
national doubles rankings. The duo received the top seed for the
NCAA doubles championship where they reached the quarterfinals.
Jacobs was the lone Emory player to make the all-conference first
team in singles (No. 3 slot), his second career all-conference
singles citation. He was chosen to the all-conference team in
doubles for the third time. Jacobs compiled a season won-loss
record of 19-2 overall in singles, including a perfect 17-0 in the
No. 3 singles position. His season singles win percentage, .905, is
the fifth best in school history. Jacobs was 17-5 in doubles this
season, including a perfect 10-0 mark against opponents from
nationally ranked top-25 teams. Entering his senior season, Jacobs
is on pace to finish with the best career singles win percentage,
.846, in school history, and the third-best career doubles win
percentage, .741. He ranks 19th on the Emory all-time list with 55
career singles wins and 10th with 60 career doubles wins.
Mark Odgers
Odgers is the first player in school history to earn All-America
citations in both singles and doubles three times. He finished 11th
in the national singles rankings and fourth in the national doubles
rankings (along with teammate Alex Jacobs). Odgers and Jacobs
received the top seed for the NCAA doubles championship where they
reached the quarterfinals. Odgers won a school-record 27 doubles
matches with different partners this season. His .818 win
percentage in doubles this year is the ninth best in school
history. Entering his senior year, Odgers has 71 career doubles
wins, eight away from tying the school record. His .755 career
doubles win percentage is on pace to set a school record. In
singles, Odgers received the No. 6 seed for the NCAA singles
championship where he was eliminated in the round of 32. Odgers has
52 career singles wins, placing him 23rd all-time in the Emory
record book.
Tyson Ramsay
Ramsay became a singles All-American for the third time in as many
years. He reached the round of 16 in the NCAA singles tournament.
Ramsay was 24th in the final national singles rankings and sixth in
the regional singles rankings. He and doubles partner Josh Rubens,
were 20th in the final national doubles rankings. Ramsay made the
all-conference team in singles for the third time and doubles for
the second time. Ramsay was 19-4 in doubles play this season, an
.826 win percentage that is eighth best in school history. Entering
his senior season, he has 50 career singles wins, placing him 26th
on the Emory all-time list. Ramsay has 53 career doubles wins, 15th
best all-time at Emory, and his .746 career doubles win percentage
puts him on pace for second place in the school record book.
Patrick Redmond
Redmond not only became a regular in the Emory lineup for the first
time but he also earned All-America honors. He did so by winning
the regional singles title at the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association fall championships. Redmond advanced to the ITA
national tournament where he finished fifth among Division III
singles competitors. He was 47th in the final national singles
rankings and 14th in the regional rankings. Redmond was voted to
the all-conference second team at both No. 4 singles and No. 3
doubles. Redmond compiled a season singles record of 24-8, tying
him for 10th place in school history for most wins. He and teammate
Jesse Ferlianto were 12th in the final regional doubles rankings.
Redmond was 24-3 (.889) in doubles play this season, the
fourth-highest win total and the fifth-best win percentage ever in
the Emory record book.
Josh Rubens
Rubens compiled a season won-loss record of 22-6 in singles. He was
21st in the final regional singles rankings. His season singles win
percentage, .786, is the 27th best in school history. Rubens and
teammate Alex Jacobs were 20th in the final national doubles
rankings. Rubens had a 22-5 record (.815) in doubles this season,
placing him ninth in the Emory record book for most wins and 12th
for best win percentage. He was voted to the all-conference first
team at No. 2 doubles and the all-conference second team at No. 5
singles.
