The No. 2-ranked Emory University men's tennis team continues it California trip by participating at the Stag Hen Invitational. The matches will be played on the campuses of Claremont-Mudd Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer. Action begins on Friday morning and will conclude on Saturday.
Emory's opening match will be against No. 25 Swarthmore starting at 10:00 am at Pomona-Pitzer. The winner of that match advances to a 3:00 pm contest against the victor of the Bowdoin vs. Pomona-Pitzer matchup. Claremont-Mudd Scripps will host Case Western while No. 1 Kenyon takes on No. 24 Skidmore.
Emory enters the Stag Hen with an overall mark of 5-3. The Eagles played at Azusa Pacific, the No. 11-ranked team in the Division II ranks, on Wednesday and came out on the short end of a 6-3 decision. The Eagles held a 2-1 lead after doubles play with the No. 1 tandem of Elliott Kahler and Ian Wagner capturing an 8-6 verdict over Jochem Hoefnagels and Jan Meyer, and the No 3 duo of Will Adams and Ayush Bajoria coming away with an 8-6 triumph. However, the Cougars posted wins in five of the six singles matches with Adams the lone Emory winner with a 6-3, 6-3 outcome against Whitman Hough at the No. 5 spot.
