Jonathan Jemison

Sophomore Jonathan Jemison was victorious in all four of his singles encounters and captured a pair of doubles decisions as the Emory men's tennis team opened its season with four matches.

Playing at the No. 2 singles slot, Jemison registered a 4-0 slate, and accounted for one on Emory's points against Georgia Gwinnett College (#1 ranked NAIA), with a 6-4, 7-6 outcome over Jordan Cox, the No. 2-ranked player in NAIA.  Jemison, the No. 10-ranked player in NCAA D-III, also recorded a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 verdict over Moses Micheal of Xavier of  Louisiana, the No. 2-ranked NAIA program.  Over the weekend, Jemison posted straight-set wins against Eric Bernabeu (6-1, 6-2) of the University of Pikeville and Rafa Hewitt (6-2, 6-3) of Point University. 

In doubles, he and David Omsky came away with a pair of wins at No. 2 against tandems from Point University and Pikeville.
