Rubinstein & Spaulding Fall Short In NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals

The Emory University team of junior Scott Rubinstein and sophomore James Spaulding saw their run in the NCAA D-III Doubles Championships come to an end on Friday afternoon.

The Eagle tandem battled but came up short against the Chicago duo of Erik Kerrigan and Ninan Kumar, 5-7, 4-6, in the quarterfinal round of the competition.  Rubinstein and Spaulding finished the season with an overall slate of 21-11.  The pair ranked as Emory's No. 1 team and posted a 17-9 mark during the spring portion of the schedule.

Friday's doubles result closed the book on the Emory men's tennis season, a year that saw the program record a record of 22-4 (19-1 in Division III affairs) and capture the program's fourth-ever national title.
