Emory Men's Tennis Rolls By DePauw

The Emory men's tennis team opened the month of April with an Easter Sunday home victory over DePauw University.  The No. 1-ranked Eagles won for the fourth straight time and boosted their season record to 11-2 following a 9-0 decision over the Tigers who slipped to 3-12.

The No. 1 doubles team of senior Scott Rubinstein and junior James Spaulding got Emory off and running with the initial point of the match, an 8-2 triumph over Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan, which upped their season ledger to 15-6. At second doubles, senior Max Renke and junior Adrien Bouchet posted an 8-4 win (9-2 on season) while junior Jonathan Jemison and freshman Hayden Cassone stretched Emory's lead to 3-0 following an 8-5 verdict at No.3 vs. Sean Carroll and Alex Pintilie.

As was the case on Saturday against Johns Hopkins, Emory captured all six singles matches in straight sets. Coach John Browning tinkered with the lower half of the singles lineup with senior Andrew Harrington coming away with a win at four, Spaulding at five and sophomore Rex Serituk at six. Jemison upped his singles mark to 15-7 after manufacturing a 6-0, 6-2 outcome against Frauenheim at No. 1, while Cassone won for the 10th straight time with a 6-2, 6-4, decision at second over McClanahan.  Senior Alec Josepher won at No. 3, 6-3, 6-0, against Carroll, his 11th victory in 18 outings this year.

Emory returns to the courts on Sunday, April 15, when it hosts No. 22 Sewanee in a 2:00 pm start.
